Who I am
Hello there! I’m Dr. Jasmine Ghannadpour, a clinical psychologist who helps kids, teens, adults, and families untangle overwhelming emotions and find practical ways forward. I specialize in eating disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions, and I love supporting helpers - healthcare workers, therapists, children of immigrants - people who often carry more than they share.
I grew up in Texas, trained in New York, and love visiting Rio de Janeiro. The Texas in me brings genuine warmth, the New York in me brings straightforward clarity, and the Rio part of me carries playful, free-spirited energy. This balance helps clients feel cared for while also being gently challenged, with space for both serious work and moments of lightness along the way.
Background: Before moving to Austin and starting my own private practice, I worked for 8 years in an academic medical center in inpatient and partial hospitalization for pediatric eating disorders in Plano, TX. Prior to that, I did a postdoctoral fellowship at the Dallas VA, focused on Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy. My internship was at the University of Rochester Medical Center, working with children and adolescents. I earned my doctorate from St. John’s University and while in New York, I did externships at Bellevue Hospital and Zucker Hillside Hospital.
